This is our journal as we go through the 49 days (step-by-step) from decision to in-vitro fertilization. Scheduling, details, feelings, thoughts; all are recorded here. It is an amazing process, and we felt it vital to chronicle it.

And Queue Vomit...

Kristina did throw up last night
A twist of fate, I feared she might
Her dosage has been upped a slight
For the numbers are not quite right

A little Dr Seuss version of what we've been going through. But she did get fairly sick last night and spent a good part of it in the bathroom after 3AM. The clinic has changed her dosage in response to the levels of estrogen not being exactly where they wanted.

As Kristina has noted, the shots come on very fast - not something that takes place over days. Her body is starting to believe it is already pregnant, so suffering a little “morning sickness” might be normal. Yet last night, whatever the cause, it got the better of her.

We visit the doctor again today for an already scheduled appointment; however, this week has been filled with anxiety and stress from unmet expectations. I think we may have forgotten to seek the unexpected blessing, and now considering that, I still don't see it on the horizon. Of course this whole process is for a specific goal, which will be a blessing, but the short term lesson is just missing for now.

So, continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. There is nothing grandiose about the things not going according to plan, but it's the little things that kill...
