This is our journal as we go through the 49 days (step-by-step) from decision to in-vitro fertilization. Scheduling, details, feelings, thoughts; all are recorded here. It is an amazing process, and we felt it vital to chronicle it.

The 23 Enigma

Last week I mentioned stress coming down on us at this phase of the pregnancy. Many wished for us to have some relief. Well, it didn't come immediately as we were in the hospital last Saturday to treat the second kidney stone Kristina had developed.

It was quite painful -- or so I observed and was told. But some stronger pain-killer and fluids helped to make the situation bearable. We followed up with the OB on Monday to discuss that this might just be the "demon" of this pregnancy and we should prepare for the possibility of more hospital visits before delivering the twins.

This of course spilled into more anxiety and emotion this week, but things have seemed to turn more positive as the week continued. Kristina took a video of Bennett kicking so hard it was visible.

I think its starting to get a little cramped in there. They're both a little big for the development age chart. Five days ago, Grayson was 1 pound 4 ounces, while Bennett was 1 pound 6 ounces.

From BabyCenter, as our weekly development description:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about the size of a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.
