This is our journal as we go through the 49 days (step-by-step) from decision to in-vitro fertilization. Scheduling, details, feelings, thoughts; all are recorded here. It is an amazing process, and we felt it vital to chronicle it.

Schedule Update

As I stated in the last post, we won’t be doing day-by-day updates this go-round. However, I thought I’d send out a quick note about our schedule. We are now into the second week of our second journey.

In less than a month, we are slated for the suppression check. For those just tuning in or those who have forgotten since the last time, the suppression check is where the uterine lining is measured for proper thickness and the ovaries are examined (by ultrasound) to look for follicles. It’s the first idea of how many potential embryos are likely. That date is also when the routine blood draws and ultrasounds begin to determine the exact date for the retrieval.

As it stands on the calendar today, we should be doing the retrieval around the last week of February. However, last time Kristina’s body was a bit slower than the schedule, so it might be as late as the first day of March. This means the embryo transfer should take place around the first week of March. What an anniversary present!

Anyway, there is nothing too eventful to report for now. Nonetheless, as the Aquarian month closes, things will be a lot more exciting.
