We have visited the fertility clinic twice since the last post. Thursday, roughly 40 hours from time of this post, is the scheduled time for the egg retrieval. Kristina will be giving herself the "trigger" shot tonight. This will neutralize suppressing hormones of the last several weeks and send her body into ovulation.
There is no guarantee of how many eggs will be able to be gathered, but there appear to be more than two dozen ready. But again, the odds of successful ICSI and mature embryo growth is far from a one-to-one ratio. Nonetheless, more is better from a pure statistical viewpoint. Over the next few days, we plan to share the progress, and by Friday we should know how many were successfully fertilized.
So, all that said - we are in the home stretch and are praying for success this time. Thanks again for the love and support.
